Also need to get drive shafts remade to right length. ![]() Spent less on the swap in the service truck, compared to the "bulletproofing".ĬOmpany in ND makes a complete kit and does the ecm flashing to get the 5.9 to talk to the transmission. Got tired of sending the 03 off to the "specialist" to get bulletproofed. First was an 08 550 which is our service truck. Also if we see a diesel engine other than Cummins in a Ram truck you can bet that it will be one built by Fiat and not a competitor. I don't know of pickups, but GM parts has a new Camaro glider if you want. The specs are not out yet, but seems like Ford has full confidence in their diesel for any in-house application. The 6.7 will be the only diesel available in the new F650 and 750 when they go in production later this year, although power rating might vary some. The cummins is in the heavy spec pickups and will stay there but thats it due to licensing agreements. Posted 23:22 (#4409509 - in reply to #4409500) Subject: RE: I'll believe it when I see it! Can't see any reason they'd want to outsource an engine again now. This Ford/Cummins rumor has been afloat since before Noah built the ark! Ford has a danged good engine in the 6.7 in-house Ford engine. Just is, right now, it's a very spendy vehicle, bought as parts and assembled. On a side note - no reason why a guy couldn't make up his own. likely a google could come up the the subject and reason's why. įed's have been considering shutting down semi-trk gliders, with pollution regulations. I either read or was told (this subject has surfaced before ), that there are legal regulations that prohibit pickup trks as gliders - Something to do with safety regs and pollution regs. But, the destroyed option is a darn good one. And the dodge will have a cat power plant of some type. The ford's will soon have a cummins from the factory from what I am being told. Next time she goes, while you have the cab off, replace with Cummins with a Destroked conversion.
